Grand Blanc Crushes Carman-Ainsworth 68-38

It was an interesting start for many reasons for our Grand Blanc Football Bobcats. The first play of the game was a kick return for a TD followed by a successful 2 point conversion by Carman-Ainsworth. The Bobcats returned the ensuing kickoff to their own 45-yard line.  On their first play from scrimmage, Ty Brotebeck connected with Elijah Jackson-Anderson for a 55 yard TD pass! The Bobcats 2 point try was no good. The Cavaliers followed with an 80 yard TD pass but missed the two-point conversion leaving the score 14-6 with 11:21 left in the first. The Bobcats followed with a three and out but pinned Carman back at their own 5-yard line. Bobcat Junior, Cross Dobbs forced and recovers a key fumble on the Carman six-yard line. Anthony Pittman plowed forward with a Bobcat Touchdown! The Bobcats defense forced a three and out. On their next possession, Ty Brotebeck handed it off to Elijah Jackson-Anderson who scored on a 28-yard Touchdown Run with 5:40 left in the first quarter.

Early in the second quarter, Ty Brotebeck connects with Bobcat Sophomore, Jaylen Johnson for a 5-yard TD pass. Elijah Jackson-Anderson successfully recovers a Bobcat onside kick! Later in the second quarter, Dennis Underwood ran for 40 yards tackled at the Carman 2 yard line. Ty Brotebeck then ran up the gut for a Bobcat TD! Deep into the second quarter Lorenzo Wood intercepts Carman and is forced out of bounds on the opposing 9-yard line. Dennis Underwood followed with a 9 yard TD run. On the next possession, Carman is sacked and Elijah Jackson-Anderson recovers the fumble at the Carman 10 yard line. Anthony Pittman scored soon after on a 2 yard TD run to end the half with the Bobcats up 48-10.

The first half lasted more than 2 hours as everyone adjusted to our new normal this season. The second half started similar to the beginning of the game with Jonah Meleski returns the 2nd half opening kickoff for a 77 yard TD. Immediately followed by a 91-yard kickoff return TD for Carman! On the next possession, Gerren Jarbeau crushes through the D-Line for a 25 yard TD run! Later in the 3rd quarter, Amir Williams picks off the Cavalier QB in the endzone!

In the fourth quarter, Hunter Ames was in at QB and closed out the Bobcat scoring with a 2-yard keeper. It is worth noting that Place Kicker, Dylan Hertzberg was 7-7 on extra points, the Bobcats are in great hands with their kicking game this year. The final score of the game was 68-38. Next week the Bobcats face the 2019 State Champions, Davison Cardinals at The Frank 7 pm. Our Marching Band and Pom will perform to their visitors at 5 pm.
