Benefits of Independent Pharmacies
For those of us who rely on pharmaceutical medications in our everyday lives, we understand the frustration that comes along with bad pharmacy experiences. Usually corporate pharmacies do not make knowing their customers much of a priority, which leads to indifference and a lack of decent customer service. Independent Pharmacies, on the other hand, pride themselves with their individualized care and attention to their patients leading them to having better customer service. Those are only two reasons why patients should consider switching to an independent pharmacy.
Owners of independent pharmacies are often part of their pharmacy staff, allowing for patients to not only form relationships with pharmacists but the owner as well. This offers another level of customer service that chain pharmacies often cannot provide, because when a patient knows the owner they feel a sense of security that wouldn’t be possible elsewhere. A pharmacist who works at an independent pharmacy used his employer (the owner) as an example when he stated, “My employer is in the pharmacy just as much, if not more than I am. He has a wonderful relationship with our patients … If they have a problem, they know he will fix it”. Having that kind of customer service available is invaluable to any business
